American Red Cross Greensboro Chapter
About Us
The Greensboro Chapter of the American Red Cross received its charter on April 20, 1917, and since that time has performed as an integral part of the American Red Cross. The chapter is part of a non-profit organization made up of more than 650 chapters which are governed by a national volunteer board. Committees oversee the programs of the chapter and utilize direct service volunteers to perform the ongoing functions. The paid staff of the chapter, led by the Executive Director, compliments the work of the volunteers by providing continuity, support and guidance.
The Greensboro Chapter is one of 100+ regional chapters around the country.

American Red Cross Piedmont Carolina Chapter
The Burlington Chapter of the American Red Cross received its charter on May 21, 1917. In 1922, the Mebane and Burlington Chapters merged to form the Alamance County Chapter. On November 1, 1993, the chapter merged with the Caswell County Chapter and changed its name to the Piedmont Carolina Chapter.
Today, the chapter operates programs in Emergency Services, Blood Services, and Health & Safety. We have a staff of three full time employees, three part time employees, a vibrant Board of Directors, and over 80 active volunteers.
