Our Story

Established in 1968

Our Franchise, the first in the PIP Network, opened  in 1968.  It started out as a hobby for Alma Howell and her daughter Joan Ilten.  Business took off and soon their husbands, Walt and Chris left their respective jobs and joined in.  This led to multiple locations. All the while, staying current with technology, was at the forefront of the business. In 1984, Chris passed away and Walt came out of retirement to hand the keys to his grandson, Brian Ilten.

Today, thanks to understanding the need to stay at the forefront of technology, Brian and his sister, Kathryn Ilten-Holmes, run the single operation in Santa Fe Springs.... and yes, Joan is still involved with the day to day operations of the business.  

After 43 years, we may put ink on paper differently and we may put it on something other than paper, but it is still printing and it is still a family business, that treats its customers, no matter what size, like family.

Brian literally 'grew up' in the business. From pulling staples out of the carpet at a penny a piece to running a press at the age of 11, there is nothing he hasn't seen or done in the printing business. Brian has served as President of the La Mirada Chamber of Commerce and on a number of boards at Christ Lutheran in Brea, his home church. He loves Angels Baseball and spending time with his 3 sons and wife of 22 years.
