Print Production Specialist

We work with a dynamic and interesting client base ranging from Museums and Non-Profits to Manufacturing, Real Estate, Car Washes, and Education. As part of a production team, you will be responsible for all aspects of printing, assembly and distribution of production work including scheduling, planning and execution.  A Print Production Specialist works closely with Customer Service and Sales to provide support with the goal of increasing sales and customer satisfaction.

Position is full time Monday-Friday with occasional overtime.  You will work in a systems-based environment with high attention to quality, detail, and deadlines. 

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to assure production work requirements are clearly defined and that timeframes and cost factors are given appropriate consideration.
  • Coordinate production schedule to meet customers’ expectations and deadlines.  Communicate the status of jobs and any unique circumstances relating to jobs as needed.
  • Ensure all jobs are delivered on-time, expedite operations that delay or alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.  Remain in contact with customers when critical issues arise or work production schedule is jeopardized.
  • Provide proof reading and monitor jobs for errors and/or “common sense” mistakes to eliminate rework.
  • Perform layout/job set up to assure cost effective utilization of equipment (computer and printing) and materials while meeting the customers’ requirements and timeframes.
  • Perform production (copying, printing, laminating, etc.) and delivery of completed job orders.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, print requests, documents, etc.  Keep job ticket information complete, accurate and current.
  • Participate in training activities or other special assignments as requested.
  • Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervisor and determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite.
  • You will gain a working knowledge of all aspects of digital printing, sign production and installation, and bindery.  
  • You will learn to operate Design-Rip stations, digital printer, contour cutter, and various finishing devices. 
  • Working on multiple projects at the same time. 
  • Working within a deadline-driven industry. 
  • Having incredible attention to detail. 
  • Possessing the skill-set to work out some technical problems with computers as well as the printers. 
  • Communicate with our team members to ensure a complete understanding of the order. 
  • Knowledge of direct mail software and practices, a plus. 

Required Skills: 

  • Follow job specifications with an eye for detail and quality. 
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds. 
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time. 
  • Able to work an 8-hour shift. 
  • Quickly learn and execute internal proprietary systems and workflow methodology. 
  • Problem solving and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Positive and supportive team communications.
  • Self-manage and execute daily responsibilities. 
  • Career orientated with a passion for our industry. 
  • Friendly, outgoing, loyal and dedicated. 

Skills we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 6 months in production type workplace but willing to train
  • A willingness to be proactive and take action
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Team player that can work with others to deliver a project on time

Skills desired, but not required:

  • Reject poor quality or incorrect jobs and notify management
  • Work with other staff members to exceed customer satisfaction and service expectations
  • Comply with all OSHA safety requirements
  • Experience with PrintSmith
